The SCE160DA160 is a thyristor (SCR) module designed for power electronics applications requiring high voltage, high current, and reliable performance. Rated for 160 A average on-state current and a 1.6 kV repetitive peak voltage, it provides stable switching capability and high single-cycle surge tolerance (5.4 kA / 5.9 kA, 50/60 Hz). It is suitable for motor drives, UPS systems, soft starters, servo controllers, and industrial power controllers.
The module features a low on-state voltage of 1.4 V at high transient current and a junction-to-case thermal resistance of 0.17 °C/W, reducing conduction losses and simplifying heat-sinking. Its double-side soldering structure improves thermal dissipation and long-term reliability. The device is UL recognized and RoHS compliant.
Control and protection characteristics include a gate trigger current of 100 mA (VD = 6 V, IT = 1 A), gate trigger voltage of ~3 V, holding current of ~140 mA, and latching current of ~230 mA. The module supports di/dt up to 500 A/µs and dv/dt off-state capability up to 1000 V/µs. Operating junction and storage temperatures range from −40 °C to +125 °C, and the module is supplied in a chassis-mount package with screw terminals for secure mounting.
