The PC817 is a single-channel optocoupler integrating an infrared LED and a phototransistor for reliable electrical isolation between input and output circuits. It offers isolation voltage up to 5 kVrms and supports collector-emitter voltages up to 80 V with an output current of up to 50 mA. The device includes multiple Current Transfer Ratio (CTR) grades ranging from 50% to 600% at an input current of 5 mA and V_CE = 5 V.

Housed in a standard 4‑pin DIP package, the PC817 achieves up to 80 kHz cut‑off frequency and features rise/fall times of approximately 18 µs, supporting moderate-speed signal isolation IC. At an LED forward current of 20 mA, the input diode forward voltage is around 1.25 V. Operating temperature ranges from −30 ° C to +100 °C, with total power dissipation up to 200 mW under typical conditions.
