The LM393 SMD SO‑8 is a dual voltage comparator with two independent precision comparators in an SO‑8 surface-mount package. It supports single-supply voltages from 2 V to 36 V and split supplies between ±1 V and ±18 V. The LM393 is suitable for applications such as signal conditioning, voltage monitoring, circuit protection, and sensor interfacing in automation and industrial systems.
Each comparator consumes approximately 0.4 mA of supply current. The input offset voltage is typically 2 mV (maximum 5 mV), the input bias current is around 25 nA, and the input offset current is typically 5 nA. These specifications ensure accurate detection of voltage differences and stable operation across a range of supply voltages.
The LM393 features a common-mode input range that includes ground, and a differential input voltage range equal to the supply voltage. Its open-collector output is compatible with TTL, CMOS, ECL, and DTL logic, allowing easy integration with digital circuits. The device is available in multiple SMD packages, including SO‑8, MiniSO8, TSSOP8, DFN8, and PDIP8.
