Toshiba TLP350H Optocoupler
The Toshiba TLP350H is a high-speed, single-channel photocoupler with a totem-pole output designed for driving IGBTs and power MOSFETs in motor-control inverters, air-conditioning inverters, PV systems, and other power-electronics equipment. It uses a GaAlAs infrared LED optically coupled to a high-gain photo-IC to achieve fast switching with a maximum propagation delay of 500 ns, while providing an isolation voltage of 3750 Vrms and strong common-mode transient immunity supported by its internal Faraday shield.
The device supports operation from −40 °C to +125 °C and a supply voltage range of 15–30 V. With a peak output capability of ±2.5 A, it can source and sink gate charge for small-to-medium IGBTs and MOSFETs without requiring additional output buffering in many applications. Its buffer-logic output and low supply current simplify integration into gate-drive circuits where stable, repeatable switching performance is required.
The TLP350H enhances noise tolerance and electrical isolation in systems exposed to high dv/dt conditions. The Faraday shield improves immunity to common-mode transients (±20 kV/µs), reducing susceptibility to false triggering in electrically noisy industrial environments. Safety approvals such as UL1577 and VDE (EN60747-5-5) support use in designs that require certified isolation performance.
