Loctite SF 7400
Loctite SF 7400 is a dark-red, solvent-based marking ink formulated for use on electronic components and assemblies. The ink dries by solvent evaporation to form a pigmented organic-polymer film. When applied as a thin film (~100 µm), it becomes tack-free in about 5 minutes and reaches full cure in around 6 hours under typical ambient conditions.
Once cured, the ink adheres strongly to both metals and many plastics, making it suitable as a visible marker on adjustment points, calibrated parts or tested components in electronics manufacturing. The cured film resists normal handling and environmental conditions, but can be removed when needed by mechanical abrasion followed by wiping with appropriate solvents such as MEK or butyl acetate.
The operating temperature range claimed for Loctite SF 7400 spans from –35 °C to +145 °C, which allows it to remain intact on assemblies used in automotive electronics, industrial automation, power-electronics modules, or other settings that may experience temperature extremes.
